Glen Peterson, ACWA President

Glen Peterson was elected to a two-year term as president of the Association of California Water Agencies in November 2007.
Born in Arizona and raised in Bakersfield, Peterson has been a member of the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) Board of Directors since 1987. He has represented Las Virgenes on the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors since 1993.
Peterson served as vice president of ACWA for the 2006-’07 term. He chaired ACWA’s Federal Affairs Committee and also served on the board of the National Water Resources Association.
A retired real estate professional, he served as director / treasurer of the Mountains Conservancy Foundation and as treasurer of the Agoura Community Center Foundation. He is a member and past president of Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation and the Agoura Hills Rotary, and the founder of Peter Strauss Ranch. He is an award-winning grape grower and vintner, an avid golfer and enjoys hiking, sailing, gardening and traveling.
Peterson was awarded the Public Health Appreciation Award from the California Department of Health Services for his work in fluoridation. He attended Loyola Marymount University, Pierce College and Cal State Northridge.
