2008- 2009 ACWA Strategic and Business Plan

At its Sept. 26, 2008, meeting, the ACWA Board of Directors gave final approval to a strategic plan to guide activities and resource commitments over the next two years. The framework plan builds on the policies of ACWA’s landmark 2005 Blueprint and sets a course for historic leadership and service to ACWA members.

The ACWA Strategic and Business Plan reflects the Board’s view that California is facing a time of both crisis and opportunity, and ACWA is uniquely positioned to take advantage of these historic times and provide game-changing leadership.

At its core, the plan commits ACWA to two key areas of action: 1) providing leadership in the Delta, and 2) raising the bar on member services.

Leadership in the Delta will focus on repositioning the discussion on improving the sustainability of the system. It’s a compelling message that puts ACWA in a position to unify all regions of the state around comprehensive Delta policies for the first time.

On the member services front, the plan equips ACWA to assist and support member agencies as they develop local resources programs such as water recycling and water use efficiency. It adds critical resources so ACWA can provide these services on a sustained basis.
