Water Bonds
Proposition 40
The California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of 2002

Prop. 40 is a $2.6 billion dollar water and resource general obligation bond that will appear on the March 5, 2002, Primary Election statewide ballot. While this bond is principally for wildlife resources such as the state Wildlife Conservation Board and many local conservancies, it does contain a slice of water funding for watershed protection and water quality. Governor Davis has proposed to direct several millions of dollars from Prop. 40, if it is successful, to programs that he has suggested be funded in the 2002-03 state Budget Act. Governor Davis has endorsed Proposition 40.

ACWA has no position on this proposition.
