- Background Check Services Program – Now there is something you can do to raise your level of confidence in your hiring decisions: get a competent, professional pre-employment background check before you hire a new employee. ACWA’s preferred provider, Employee Relations, Inc. is a company that will do just that for you at very affordable, competitive pricing. Response time is fast and reports are available on-line, even as they are developing.

- Demand
Response Program - ACWA has teamed with two demand response providers - Ancillary Services Coalition (ASC), a preferred provider since 1999, and ACWA’s newest preferred provider, EnerNOC - to offer ACWA members a variety of demand response programs as well as energy management services. ACWA members have a unique opportunity to lower their energy costs, generate additional revenue and help prevent blackouts and brownouts when the state faces critical electricity shortages. Program participants get paid for offering to reduce their energy usage even if never called upon. If events do occur, payments to participants are even higher. These programs can keep electricity costs down for everyone and benefit the environment.
- Energy Cost Reduction Assessment Program through ACWA preferred providers, Water and Energy Consulting / Efficiency Analysts International provides interactive decision support using the knowledge and expertise of two top energy experts with proven track records serving the water community. Pricing is based on system size.
- Human Resource Services with ACWA preferred provider, CPS Human Resource Services, offers ACWA members easy access to fast, professional advice and a full array of human resource services. This program will help water agencies get expert HR assistance without breaking the budget.
- Insurance
Services Program through ACWA-JPIA is
constantly evolving to meet the changing needs
of its members. ACWA JPIA provides liability,
property and workers’ compensation

- Natural Gas Program – ACWA members that use large amounts of natural gas can reduce their costs by buying gas through ACWA's preferred provider, Shell Energy North America. This program gives members greater market access and lower pricing through group purchases. Several pricing options are available, including fixed pricing for a specified term or floating indexed pricing. It is a proven program that has been reducing members' natural gas costs since early 1997.
- Pre-Employment and Return to Work Medical Evaluation Program – With preferred provider Occu-Med, ACWA members now have a program available that will help them hire better people, protect employees and will save member money; potentially, a lot of money. The medical evaluation service Occu-Med provides will ensure that the people hired are physically capable of doing the job they are hired to perform.
