New Terms Begin for Santa Fe Irrigation District Board by Santa Fe Irrigation District Jan 12, 2023 Member Submitted News The Santa Fe Irrigation District has sworn in three incumbent Board members and welcomed one new member. Incumbents Michael T. Hogan, Sandra Johnson and Andy Menshenk were sworn in prior to the December Board meeting. The three directors all ran unopposed in their respective divisions. The Board also welcomed a new member, Ron Magnaghi, representing Division 1. Director Magnaghi was appointed by Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer earlier in December. The Board also unanimously voted to approve Director Michael T. Hogan as Board President and Director Dana Friehauf as Vice-President. This is President Hogan’s eighth term as Board President, and Vice-President Friehauf’s first term. “It is my honor to serve as President of this Board once again, and I appreciate the support and confidence from my colleagues,” said President Hogan. “Our district has a big year ahead of us in 2023, as we prepare to celebrate our 100-year anniversary, finalize our cost of service and rate structure, and deal with the ongoing drought. We are all dedicated to providing our customers with a sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable water future for our customers.” President Hogan ran unopposed for Division 4, which serves the northern part of Solana Beach. He was originally elected to the position in 2008. He will continue to be a member of the Executive Committee and serves as the SFID representative to the San Diego County Water Authority, the region’s wholesale supplier. Vice-President Friehauf was elected to the Board in 2020 and will also sit on the Executive Committee. She represents Division 2, which covers the central portion of Solana Beach. She also serves as Vice-Chair of the Association of California Water Agencies Region 10 Board, which represents San Diego and Orange Counties. Director Magnaghi will represent Division 1, which includes areas of east Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe. He is senior managing director at Newmark, a world leader in commercial real estate. He specializes exclusively in tenant representation for local and multi-market companies occupying office and flex-type properties. During his 31-year brokerage career in San Diego he has focused on representing business service, high-tech, educational and other growth-oriented companies. Santa Fe Irrigation District is a special district that provides potable and recycled water service to approximately 20,000 customers in the city of Solana Beach and portions of Rancho Santa Fe and Fairbanks Ranch.
